Rajagiriya narcotics raid: Two suspects further remanded

Two suspects including the main suspect wanted for causing an injury to a Police officer while he was engaged in a narcotic raid in Obeysekarapura,  Rajagiriya were ordered to be further remanded till October 12 by the Colombo Additional Magistrate Shalani Perera. The Additional Magistrate also ordered the Prisons Superintendent to produce the suspects before an identification parade on that same day.

It is reported that the main suspect in the incident had fled in a vehicle causing injuries to a Police Officer who was engaged in a Narcotic raid in Rajagiriya area on September 20, following an altercation with him. Following the incident, The Nugegoda and Colombo Crimes Divisions launched a joint operation to arrest the suspect.

The Talangama Police arrested two persons on suspicion of the incident and the duo is being detained following Court orders. The suspected car was also seized by Police while it was parked at a house in Talangama.

A woman at that residence was also arrested on suspicion of involvement in the incident and was remanded till September 29 after being produced before Court.
