Former Prime Minister and UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe said that he is ready to help rebuild the country with the support of Parliament.
Wickremesinghe stated this when the Lanka Private Bus Owners’ Association Chairman Gemunu Wijeratne and a group of representatives of the Transport Associations met him on Monday. He added that he helped rebuild the economy during difficult times in the past.
Meanwhile, Wickremesinghe said that he held talks with the United States, the United Kingdom, China, India and the European Union to seek relief for the current food crisis in Sri Lanka. The aforesaid countries that they are considering how to help Sri Lanka. The Envoys also told Wickremesinghe that it would be easier to help Sri Lanka if the Government reached an agreement with the International Monetary Fund.
