Rare fierce fight between two female elephants

An extremely rare fierce fight between two female elephants took place in the Pothana area near Mahakanadarawa Lake Reserve in Mihintale on Monday (31), which was witnessed by a large group of villagers. The fight between the two fully grown female elephants lasted for more than two hours, the villagers said.

A traditional local doctor named Somaratne said that because of this very rare battle between two enraged female elephants, the entire area nearby was fully covered by a cloud of heavy dust.

He also mentioned that two female elephants engaging in a fight is extremely rare.
