Ratmalana shooting linked to feud with Alto Dharme

Investigations have revealed that the shooting of the owner of a chicken meat stall opposite the Ratmalana railway station was led by underworld gangster and drug dealer Alto Dharme who is staying in Dubai.

The shooting was carried out with a 9 mm type firearm by two people who came on a motorcycle on Monday (21) night. The deceased has been identified as S.A.Deshapriya(40), a resident of Weerasena Silva Mawatha, Ratmalana.

The investigation has revealed that the shooters killed this businessman and fled to Anguruwathota. A senior officer said that the reason for this shooting was that the previous day, this businessman had blamed a person connected to Alto Dharme’s drug network.

Police spokesman SSP Nihal Talduwa said that so far no information has been revealed that the victim is involved in crimes

Police said the motorcycle by which the gunmen came to shoot at the owner of a meat shop near the Ratmalana railway station was found abandoned in the Keselhenawa in Anguruwathota.

Police said that the chassis number and engine number of the motorcycle were erased and only the front registration number plate was there.

Police said that the residence number belongs to a resident of Kurunegala and it is also suspected to be forged.

The motorcycle was taken into police custody and further investigations are on.
