In order to make the work of the Customs Department more effective, the recruitment process for the currently vacant posts of Assistant Superintendent of Customs and Inspector of Customs is being carried out and the recruitment activities will not be affected in any way, State Minister of Finance Ranjith Siyambalapitiya said.

He said that no one with such influence can enter the Customs House and it will never happen.

The State Minister mentioned this while addressing the media in Ruwanwella.

Accordingly, the list of those who have passed the examination conducted by the Examinations Department and obtained the highest marks in the interview for the above posts will be sent to the Customs first in alphabetical order.

Accordingly, the State Minister indicated that height and chest measurements will be conducted in the presence of the interview panel at the upcoming interviews. The State Minister said that after checking the certificates, marks will also be awarded for sportsmanship as per the method clearly mentioned in the circular.

The State Minister also mentioned that after the marks obtained in this interview are sent to the Examinations Department, these marks and the marks obtained at the examination will be added together and it will be divided into two and the priority list will be sent to the Customs Department for recruitment.

According to this, the educated young men and women of the country have been given an opportunity to join the most profit-making institution in the country and since exemplary recruitment is done with transparency, nothing happens outside of the manner mentioned in the said gazette, the State Minister said.
