Defender Dimurhu Priyadarshana made the initial scoring for them in the 31 minutes of the first half to retain this scoreline at the breather.

After the turnaround, both teams fought hard and Renown surged ahead in an attempt to increase their lead, while their hometown rivals Ratnam hunted for their maiden goal. Danso Enoch of Ratnam accelerated ahead and scored to level the scoreline one-all.

With this goal, the match took a different complexion as both teams went all out to boot the winning goal. Eventually, Renown’s O.Job Michael broke through the rival defence to increase their lead and seal the game in their way with a 2-1 victory.
