The young golfer dominated the competition, finishing a staggering 17 strokes ahead of the runner-up, Jevhan Sathasivam, and a further 3 strokes ahead of joint third-place finishers, Jacob Norton and Pranav Muralitharan.

Algama’s remarkable performance included a commendable 2-over-par in the 1st Round and an even-par round in the second, resulting in an impressive total score of 144. The challenging and tricky NEGC Course proved no match for the dispute junior number one golfer.

Having made his debut for Sri Lanka at the Bangladesh Amateur Championship earlier in the year, held at the Kurmitola Golf Club in Dhaka, Algama has steadily matured as a national player.
