Resolve CMC dispute – Ranil

Former Prime Minister UNP MP Ranil Wickremesinghe yesterday requested Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa to resolve the problem that has arisen between the Colombo Municipal Council’s Members and its Commissioner.

Wickremesinghe noted that the CMC has gone inactive due to this dispute. “I request Prime Minister Rajapaksa to intervene in this matter. Summon the Mayor, Members of the Municipal Council and the Commissioner and resolve the issue and reach an agreement.”

Wickremesinghe noted that the distribution of relief to those who have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in the CMC area has come to a halt due to this disagreement between the two parties.
