Retired Sergeant arrested with pistol in Rajanganaya

A retired staff sergeant of the army was arrested yesterday (18) by a group of Rajangana police officers with a pistol.

According to the information received by Rajanganaya Police Station Chief Inspector Gajasinghe, the Staff Sergeant was arrested at Maragahaveva area, the Police Media spokeman’s office stated. The suspect is 42 years old. The Police Media Spokesperson Office further stated that he retired on May 11, 2022 while working at the Kilinochchi camp. The Rajanganaya police state that further investigations are underway as to how this weapon was found by the retired staff sergeant.
