The Nittambuwa Police is investigating on two police officers who made phone calls and threatened SSP Indika De Silva who retired on March 18.
He had retired after serving as the Polonnaruwa division Senior Superintendent.
Police said that these threats were made to the retired SSP on March 19 while a party was being held at a hall in Thihariya to celebrate his birthday.
According to De Silva’s complaint to the Nittambuwa Police, he received threats on his personal mobile phone that day. He is said to have been threatened by a sub-inspector currently working in Moneragala police division and a police sergeant working in the Anuradhapura division.
A senior police officer stated that a comprehensive investigation will be conducted as to why the SSP was threatened after his retirement.
