Revised circular on 2025 Grade One student admissions

The Cabinet of Ministers has granted its consent to the proposal forwarded by Education Minister Susil Premajayantha to revise the circular pertaining to the admission of students to Grade One of schools with effect from 2025.

Cabinet Spokesman and Mass Media Minister Dr. Bandula Gunawardhana said that it has been decided to enrol children in the first grade for 2025 and the following years as per the instructions given in the revised circular.The minister stated this at a media conference held yesterday at the Government Information Department.

Accordingly, the minister said that the admission of children to Grade One of schools will be done in accordance with this circular to ensure equal access to education, transparency and to reduce irregularities.
