Rio Fencing Academy awards ceremony on Jan. 12

The Boys and Girls winners of the Fencing championship for years 2019 and 2021 will be felicitated in an awards ceremony organised by Rio Fencing Academy manager R.M. Anura on Jan. 12 at the Wickramshila National School Main Hall, Giriulla. This is being organized by National Rio Sports Association.

The organiser South Asian Games 2019 medalist R. M. Anura Bandara has made arrangements to conduct it. They will be assisted by coach of the national team Asiri Wijesiri of National Fencing Federation and Sri Lanka Army coach Piumi Krishanthi.

The following are expected to attend the ceremony Principal of Wickramsheela National School, Sri Lanka School Rio Association Secretary Anura Tennakoon Assistant Secretary Samanthi Weerasinghe, Major Nivanka Periris, Shivantha Peiris Vice President National and international referee Udara Wijesundara, Buddhika Warnasuriya and Udaya Kumara will grace the occasion as guests of honor.

In addition to the award ceremony the organizers have planned to conduct a training programme for interested fencing lovers. This training programme will be handled by Siri Wijesiri the head coach of the Nationsal Fencing Federation and D.M. Lakmali Senannayake along with Sri Lanka Army coach Piumi Krishanthi.
