Robber gang arrested on 16th occasion

Two suspects who came to rob a wholesale shop in Thalawathugoda had been arrested on the spot with a hand grenade, a firearm and two live bullets, Thalangama Police said.  

The Police, acting immediately on an information received to them that two robbers were clashing with the shop owner, raided the place and arrested the suspects. The investigations have revealed that the suspects were linked to 15 previous robberies in different locations. Aged 50 and 26, the suspects are residents of Walasmulla, but now temporarily residing in Ganemulla.
