Rocket sent by my brother a private project : Namal

Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) MP Namal Rajapaksa responding to comments linking the recent spacecraft launch by India to explore the moon and the rocket sent by his younger brother said the rocket sent by his brother was a private sector project.

Rajapaksa made this comment while addressing a SLPP meeting in Bandaragama. Noting that even in Parliament he had been questioned about it, Rajapaksa said if there was a government investment in it, it should have been brought before the COPE.

He said if Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa wants to inquire about the investment, that was up to him, and it showcased his political vision.

Rajapaksa further said intentions of such statements were to defame his family and seek petty political mileage.
