Mohomed Naseel from Wellampititya, aged 36, runs a small online lifestyle goods store selling toys and games. He decided to become a seller on Daraz in time for its 11:11 Mega Sale event, with the aim of increasing his customer base and expanding his business.

To his amazement, during the 11:11 sale he crossed the milestone of receiving over 1,000 orders which was well above his expectations.

With this massive uptick in sales received through the platform and with the support of the Daraz Seller Team, he has now expanded his online store to include laundry and other household goods as well. He is so ecstatic with his success that in just a couple of weeks he has already convinced three other shop owners to join the Daraz platform.

Indeed, this year’s 11:11 sale saw over 620,000 local consumers having access to over 1 Million products from 30,000 sellers and brands through the Daraz application alone (excluding website purchases).

Such programmes benefit consumers and sellers alike, and Daraz witnessed a 140% increase in sellers who made more than Rs. 5,000 in the first 24 hours of the Daraz 11:11 Mega Sale.

Similarly, other income earners like content creators also benefit from partnering with online platforms during mega sales as those who partnered with Daraz saw their earnings grow by over 400% during this year’s 11:11 campaign.
