Route 187 (Pettah-KIA) luxury private bus strike ends
Gampaha District Lanka Private Bus Owners Association President Lambert Madhurage said the strike launched by luxury private buses operating on Route 187 (Pettah-Katunayake) ended yesterday, and resumed operations as usual, after discussions with State Transport Minister Lasantha Alagiyawanna.
The bus strike starting on August 26, caused much inconvenience to passengers arriving at Katunayake International Airport, employees arriving at the Katunayake Free Trade Zone and the air cargo warehouses in the area. President Madhurage added that State Minister Alagiyawanna assured that he would arrange with the Airport authorities to provide a solution for buses coming from Colombo, to enter Katunayake Airport again, within the next two days.
