Royal and Bishop’s emerge National Diving champions

Royal College Union Aquatic Club and Bishop’s College emerged overall champions at the National Diving Championships held at the Sugathadasa Stadium Sports Complex Swimming Pool in Colombo.

Royal and Bishop’s also had the satisfaction of producing the Best Diver at this two-day meet, which was conducted by the Sri Lanka Aquatic Sports Union.

Prasad Dissanayake from Royal was selected as the Best Diver in the Boys’ Championship for his outstanding performances in the 3m springboard and platform event respectively.

In addition, Kithmi Marambe of Bishop’s won the Best Diver Award in the Girls Championship for her excellent performances in the platform and 3m springboard event respectively.

Royal also went on to complete a grand double as they emerged overall champions in the Junior National Championship with Visakha Vidyalaya claiming the Girls Junior National Championship.

Royal’s Mikhail Jayaweera was crowned as the Best Diver in the Boys’ category while Vinudi Kankanamge from Visakha won the Best Diver Award in the Girls’ Tournament.
