Rs 5.5 Mn Crew Cab for ‘Sale’ with fake documents, businessman arrested

Officers of the Central Anti-Corruption Squad (CACS) in Walane, Panadura, arrested a businessman engaged in vehicle sales from Kurunegala, when they found a Crew Cab type vehicle worth around Rs 5.5 million in his vehicle showroom with fake documents. According to the CACS, the arrest was following a covert operation conducted by the Intelligence Officers.

The cab was ‘registered’ to be sold with a different registration number, and the engine number and chassis number of another vehicle.
