Rs.92,000 robbed from Meerigama monastery

Meerigama Police started an investigation on a theft of Rs.92,000 from a monastery in Meerigama, Gurugodadella.

Thieves entered the monastery by breaking the lock of the front door. Police said that this theft took place on Wednesday (11) while the two monks who live in the monastery were away.

Investigations are conducting under the guidance of the Meerigama Police officer in charge Police Inspector Upul Hettiarachchi.
