Rtd SSP’s Katana residence burgled

The Katana Police has initiated an investigation into the burglary of a house in Demanhandiya, Katana the residence of a retired Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP).

The Police say that the thieves had broken a window, entered the house and stolen property in excess of Rs. 200,000 including 09 bottles of liquor and a watch. The Katana Police also say that the burglary took place on Saturday 07 between 7:00 and 8:30 in the evening when the retired SSP and his wife were not at home.

The Police suspect that this burglary may have been done by a drug addict.

This retired SSP is 74 years old.
