He was ailing for some time and was wheelchair bound due to a nerve compression with Sri Lanka Rugby (SLR) organising a fundraising match at Havelock Park recently.

The late Chandrishan was known to be a dashing player at wing position, played domestic cricket and also went onto captain the winning team at the Fiji Sevens Tournament in 1994.
