The strengthening of the Sri Lankan rupee continued and for the first time after two years the selling rate came down under Rs. 290 to 289.89 the selling rate was quoted by the Central Bank at Rs. 303.2640.
The governor Central Bank, Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe earlier said that the Sri Lanka rupee would further stabilize and the inflation too would be brought down to single digit to around 6% before the end of the year while interest rates too would come down.
