S. Thomas’ College will have a great chance of pulling off their first win for the current season when they confront St. Anthony’s College in their Inter-Schools Under-20 ‘A’ Division League Rugby Tournament match at Havelock Park today.

The Thomians have been struggling this season to get their act together well against some more superior teams and are yet to get off the mark from their three outings in a tough Group-1.

Even then, the lads from Mount Lavinia could have at least had one win under their belt in the league and they would certainly regret the performance in the clash against St. Joseph’s College where they went down by just two points (28-30) at Havelock Park.

The Thomians also had a decent outing against Trinity College where they lost another hard-fought contest (13-20) away from home before going down against the traditional rivals Royal (8-20) at the Royal Complex.

Meanwhile, St. Anthony’s will start the game with more confidence following last week’s huge 57-7 triumph against their hometown rivals Kingswood College at the Nittawela Stadium.

In fact, the Antonians are currently ahead of the Thomians in the points table but will need to produce another sterling performance to topple the favourites.
