Sajith alleges group of brokers want to undersell Visumpaya
Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa said in Parliament yesterday that there are preparations to sell the Rs.8 billion Visumpaya belonging to the Urban Development Authority for Rs.4 billion.
The Opposition Leader said that a group of brokers are behind this racket. He said that information has been reported that this deal is being done outside the valuation set by the Government Valuer and he is questioning what is expected from the sale of these state resources.
“I received information that a group of separate brokers are trying to sell the property at a low price regardless of the valuation. Sethsiripaya, Suwasiripaya, Savsiripaya and Isurupaya were built during the time of former President Ranasinghe Premadasa. What do you expect from selling this?” the Opposition Leader asked.
