Tharaka Sandaruwan will lead the Junior Davis Cup five member boys team for the Asia Oceania final qualification round while T.Pahirathan will lead five member girls team for the ITF Junior Billie Jean King Cup and both tournaments will underway at New Delhi, India this week and next week .
This will be good contest for the Sri Lanka juniors in which 14 countries will compete for the boys tournament and 16 countries will take part at the girls tournament.
Vishmi Serasinghe, Nisangi Hemakumara, Hasali Gajaba and Nishka Vivekanandan are the other members of the Sri Lanka junior girls team while Lisal Goonathilleke, Akash de Silva, Vichinthaya Nilaweera and Thilina Dissanayake are the junior boys team members.
Most of this junior players excelled at the recently concluded SLT Clay court Tennis championship and they have a good opportunity to get more exposure at International level during these tournaments. Sri Lanka, Thailand, Korea, Australia, Japan, Hong Kong, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, India, Indonesia, Iran, Mongolia, Vietnam and Singapore will compete at the ITF junior Billie Jean King Cup girls tournament while Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Iran, Kazakhstan, Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, Syria, Korea, Thailand, Uzbekistan, India, Indonesia and Pakistan will compete for the Junior Davis Cup boys team Asia Oceania pre qualifying round.
