Member of the under 14 and 16 Milo All Island Champion Teams, Captain of the All Island National Schools under 17 team and Member of the All Island under 20 Milo Champions team, under 14 and under 17 School Athletic Champion, Member of the Basketball, Table Tennis, Carrom and Badminton teams in the inter house tournaments Sundarapperuma Mudiyanselage Sanduni Nishadi has brought honour and immense glory to her alma mater in the field of sports especially Netball.
Sanduni who hails from Galgamuwa was born on 27 th February 2003 and was admitted to Holy Family Convent Kurunegala in 2015 Same year participating in the Inter House Sports Meet she won the under 14 Long Jump, 100 metres and came second in 200 metres and in the following year she swept the board and became the under 14 champion athlete and in the under 15 she came first in two events and second in another and in 2017 she was the under 17 champion athlete by winning Long Jump, 400 and 800 metres and after that she did not continue or participate in the Divisional, Zonal, District and Provincial Meets. She took part in the Inter House Tournaments in Basketball, Carrom, Table Tennis and Badminton.
Her mother Mala Rajapaksha noticing that her daughter is an asset to Netball handed over her to the School Netball Coach Amalka Gunatilleke.
In her first year itself they won the Divisional, Zonal, District and Provincial in the under 13 age group and in the All Island Milo Tournament her school came up to Best Eight and in the following year they won all the lower level tournaments they were the All Island under 14 Milo Champions and though they won all the lower formats in 2017 and in the next year at the under 16 age category in the All Island Milo Tournament they were the Runner up and they clinched the Sri Lanka All Island Tournament and became the champions.
Same year they were rewarded with a tour to Malaysia from the school and 20 teams participated for the Testabola Tournament and they were the Runner up and this tour was a fine exposure for Sanduni. Then in 2018 at the Milo Tournament they were the Runner up and in the All Island Nationals too they were the Runner up and she captained the team and in 2019 too the results were same and in 2021 at the Youth Festival Open Tournament they were the second and in 2022 they were the All Island under 20 Milo Champions and three of her members of the team carried away three awards in the finals and her skipper received the prestigious Milo Queen 2020 Award.
