Sangha Conference of Western Province on August 26

A Sangha Conference will be held on August 26 at 2.30 pm, at the Olaboduwa Raja Maha Viharaya, Horana, with the participation of all the Sangha community of the Western Province including Upadya Theras, Sangha Nayaka Theras and Deputy Sangha Nayaka Theras of the Malwatte Chapter.

This conference is organized by Ven. Dr. Diviyagaha Yassassi Nayaka Thera, Chief Judicial Sangha Nayaka of Nava Korale in Colombo, Ven. Rajakeeya Panditha Balangoda Sobhitha Thera, Chief Incumbent of Vidyodhya Pirivena, Ven. Rajakeeya Panditha Valamitiyawe Gnanarathna Thera, Chief Incumbent of Vidyalankara Pirivena, Ven. Prof. Agalakada Sirisumana Thera, Chief Judicial Sangha Nayaka of Western Province and Chief of Judicial Sangha Nayaka of Colombo and Kalutara Division Ven. Olaboduwe Dhammika Thera as per the advice and guidance of Most Ven. Thibbatuwawe Sri Siddhartha Sumangala Mahanayaka Thera of the Malwatte Chapter of the Siyam Nikaya. The conference will be chaired by Most Ven. Sahithya Chakrawarthi Niyangoda Vijithasiri Anunayake Maha Thera of the Malwatte Chapter. The organizing committee wishes to propose and second some important decisions on the development, well-being and future protection of Buddhism in Sri Lanka, temples and the Sangha community.
