Uthpala Amarathunga of Super Fighters Chess Club secured the Silver Medal with 6 points out of the possible 7 games while E.A.B.T Edirisinghe of University of Moratuwa also scored 6 out of 7 possible games to finish second but with the lesser tie breaker as he won the Bronze medal.
Meanwhile Chenaya Ekaratne made a fine effort to scoring 7 points out of 7 possible games won a Gold Medal . She beat Nethra Rathnayake, Vihansa Liyanage, Resandi Kiringoda, Jenuki Herath, Tenuki Herath, Thinuli Pathirana and Ananya Perera to grab the championship in great style. (D.R)
