Seventeen year old, K. M. Sathyanganie, a Grade thirteen student of Gothami Balika Vidyalaya,Kandy in the Arts stream is an up and coming women’s cricketer and a talented Martial Arts sportswoman coached by Samantha Dikkumbura in Cricket and P. U. Dharshana, veteran martial arts instructor.

She started her Cricket career in the year 2015 and represented ‘Madara’ House in the Inter House Cricket tournament and brought victory to her team as an all-round cricketer. In the same year at the District Cricket tournament she claimed three wickets for twenty two runs at the Kandy District Girls School cricket tournament as a right arm,leg spin bowler. In the following year in 2016 she showed her class as a batswoman, to score twenty five runs against St.Anthonys’ Girls School at the same tournament and In the same year again she scored twenty five runs against Mahamaya Girls School,Kandy. In 2017 at the Kandy District Cricket tournament she scored sixty two runs against Nuwara-Eliya District team and In 2018 she bagged four wickets for thirty five runs in a Club Cricket match against Kandy Cricket and Athletic Academy representing Malwatte Cricket club.

In Martial arts in the year 2018 she became the Champion in the Sri lanka National Muaythai Martial arts championship and received a Gold Medal in the 40-42 Kg. Weight class held at Nawalapitiya Jayathillake Indoor Stadium. In 2019 at the same Championship held at Digana Sports complex she received a Silver Medal in the 45-46 Kg.class and in 2020 at the Muay Thai Championship in the Under eighteen category held at the Sugathadasa Stadium,Colombo she was selected as the ‘Best fighter’ in the 56-57 Kg. weight class and a Special Trophy was awarded. Her Organization Consultant is Scottish National Master, Paul Mcway who is currently an eighth grade Black Belt and Sathyanganie was selected to take part in this year’s World Muay Thai Martial Arts championship held in Thailand but due to the Covid 19 pandemic in the Country she could not take part in this event. Her intention is to improve her talent in Cricket to become an International Women’s Cricketer and to improve her talent in Martial Arts
