Schools in Kandy, Nuwara Eliya to reopen tomorrow

All government schools in the Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts will reopen tomorrow (05), the Central Province Director of Education announced today.

The schools were closed yesterday (04) due to adverse weather conditions and continuous heavy rainfall, which had raised safety concerns for students and teachers.

The closure was ordered under the instructions of the Secretary to the Central Provincial Ministry of Education, with the primary aim of ensuring the safety of schoolchildren and staff.

With weather conditions easing, authorities confirmed that schools in both districts will resume normal operations from Wednesday. (Newswire)
