Semi-finalists found in MCA D division League

Unbeaten, Hayleys Group ‘B’, along with Nations Trust Bank ‘A’, Melwire Rolling and Central Finance advanced to the semi-finals in the Fourth Ceylon Biscuits Limited sponsored ‘CBL-Munchee’ Trophy, MCA ‘D’ Division 40 Over League Tournament 2024.

The quarter-finals were worked off on December 16 and 17.

Results at a glance.

1st Quarter-final at MCA: Hayleys Group ‘B’ win by 34 runs on the DLS Method.

National Development Bank ‘A’:141 all out in 34.5 overs. Hayleys Group ‘B’: 124 for 4 in 23.5 overs when rain halted play. (DLS target reduced to 89 runs)

2nd Quarter-final at MCA: Nations Trust Bank ‘A’ win by six runs.

Nations Trust Bank ‘A’: 151 all out in 39.5 overs. Power Hand Plantations: 145 all out in 37.5 overs.

3rd Quarter-final at Darley Road: Melwire Rolling win by six wickets

Yokohama TWS: 58 all out in 23.1 overs. Melwire Rolling: 62 for 4 in 12 overs.

4th Quarter-final at Pannipitiya: Central Finance win in the ‘bowl –out contest as the match ended in a no decision due to rain. (the match was reduced to 35 overs a side due to wet ground conditions)

Stafford Motor Co.: 99 all out in 33.3 overs

Central Finance: 58 for 4 in 12 overs when rain halted play as no further play was possible.
