Senior DIG appointed to bring back ‘Kudu Anju’ to Sri Lanka

The IGP C.D. Wickremeratne has appointed a senior DIG to coordinate the operation to bring back the notorious underworld drug trafficker   named ‘Kudu Anju’ to Sri Lanka. ‘Kudu Anju’ has been arrested by the French Police and is currently under arrest in that country.

Information from the Police Headquarters stated that Priyantha Weerasuriya, the senior DIG in charge of Crime and Traffic Division has been appointed to coordinate efforts to bring back the drug trafficker.

Information further revealed that the Inspector General of Police has assigned Weerasuriya the responsibility of collecting information at Police station level regarding the crimes against ‘Kudu Anju’, coordinating with the Attorney General’s Department, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the International Police Branch of the Criminal Investigation Department.
