Serasinghe bags U-16 tennis title

Vishmi Serasinghe produced a fine performance to claim the Girls’ Under-16 Singles title at the 106th Colombo Open Tennis Tournament, which continued at the SLTA Courts in Green Path on Monday.

The schoolgirl from Ave Maria Convent, Negombo rallied around magnificently and went on to beat Saajida Razick 5-4, 4-1 in the final encounter.

Earlier, Denara de Silva of St. Bridget’s Convent clinched the Girls’ Under-14 Singles title when she defeated Gehansa Methnadi 4-2, 4-1 in the final encounter.
