Sergeant with strange pursuit arrested in Horana

Anguruwathota Police said that an Army Sergeant working in an Army camp in Horana area was arrested on Thursday 24 while wearing women’s underwear.

A woman in a house near an army camp had started losing her underwear. While they were on the lookout for this, the previous night, this person came and stole an undergarment hanging outside. The Police said that the resident chased the man and tried to catch him, but he slipped through the wire fence and ran towards the camp. Thus, on the night of the 24th, Police officers were also vigilant in the darkness and this person came and was able to catch him.

During the inspection, he was found wearing a woman’s underwear and the woman identified it as the one that was stolen the previous day, Police said. Accordingly, a 40-year-old resident of Nikaweratiya area was arrested. Anguruwathota police are conducting further investigations.
