Seven arrested for treasure hunting

A group of seven people, including an assistant School Principal from Algama who is also a Buddist monk from a temple in Nittambuwa, were arrested by the Galenbindunuwewa Police for treasure hunting.

The Galenbindunuwewa Police state that among these suspects are three persons from Nittambuwa and a minor employee of a government hospital. Police arrested the group after a tip was received on the 119 Police Emergency Hotline that a group of people had been excavating for treasure in a land located in Karuwalagaswewa, Megodawewa in the Galenbindunuwewa Police Division.The suspects are to be produced in Court.
