Seven in hospital discount scam arrested

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) yesterday arrested seven persons, including a former accountant and an assistant accountant of a private hospital in Colombo in connection with the massive fraud running into millions that has allegedly taken place at the hospital.

The Criminal Investigation Department has conducted investigations over the past period regarding a case of fraudulently obtaining the 20% special discount given by the hospital for patients receiving treatment in the hospital by a group of seven including the former accountant of the hospital.

The CID investigating into the fraud had obtained statements from the patients.
