Twenty year old, Shammika Abhiman Wijeyasinghe, a Grade thirteen student of Dharmaraja College, Kandy is a talented cricketer and Athlete. He started cricket in the year 2012 under the coaching of Harold Ranasinghe, Veteran Cricket coach.
Shammika is a right hand Batsman, right arm medium pace bowler and at the start he was at the Dharmaraja College Cricket Academy in the Under thirteen team under the captaincy of Dulaj Bandara . He scored a total of 100 runs in five matches, his highest score being forty runs against Nugawela National School and he took four wickets for twenty nine runs against Sri Sumangala Vidyalaya, Kandy. In the year 2015 he scored 63 against St.Mary’s College, Kegalle and his highest bowling feat was against Kingswood College when he bagged three wickets for 16.

In the year 2015 Shammika started Athletics in School under the Coaching of Chandana Abeyratne and S.Gunapala and in the Under fifteen age category at Sir John Tarbet Championship he won 80 metre Hurdles with a timing of 13.1 secds. and at the Junior Championship he got a Merit award in the 400 metre Hurdles with a timing of 58.8 secds.
In the same year at the Provincial Meet he came third in the 100 metre Hurdles. In 2016 at the Under sixteen Sir John Tarbet meet in the 100 metre Hurdles he came among the first ten and In 2017 he came first in the 110 metre Hurdles with a timing of 15.7 secds.
in 2018 in the Under eighteen age group at the Sir John Tarbet Senior Athletic meet held at the Sugathdasa Stadium in the 4 x 100 metre Relay with the other team members Sachira, Maneesha and Kavindu, came among the first Ten and in the Individual event he participated in the 110 metre Hurdles.
In 2019 at the all Island Athletic championship his Relay team became third In the 4 x 100 metre relay held at the Vincent Dias Stadium, Badulla, At the zonal meet he came second in 100 metre Hurdles and again in the following year he came first at the 110 metre Hurdles with a timing of 15.9 secds.
He became the Best Athlete in the Track events when he won the 110 metre Hurdles with a timing of 16.69 secds.
