Sixteen year old ,Sharon Tennakoon , a Grade Eleven Student of Greenhill International School,Kandy is an outstanding Cricketer, Athlete and a Table Tennis player of the School and he started his Cricket career under the coaching of Nimal Seneviratne, former Cricketer of Dharmaraja College, and a Level One Cricket Coach attached to SL Cricket. Sharon did not perform well in Cricket as an Under 13 player but in the School Under 15 Cricket team under the coaching of Himanga Sooriyampola he led his side to come up to the second round in the Sri Lanka Schools Cricket tournament.

His team beat Lumbini Royal,Kolongoda MV, Chandananda Buddhist School,Kandy and Greewood International School to enter the second round in the Tournament as a right hand top order Batsman.

His highest score of the Season was Seventy five Runs in a traditional match against Sarasavi Uyana Maha Vidyalaya,Kandy and in addition he scored Forty Seven runs against Chandananda Buddhist School, Thirty Nine against Lumbini Royal, and Thirty five against Kolongoda MV in tournament matches as a right arm off spinner. His Best Bowling feat was capturing Four wickets for Thirty five runs against Kolongoda MV. Sharon is an Athlete too who has won Gold Medals at the Inter House Sports Meet in the 100 metre Race and 4×100 mixed Relay representing Green House of the School. In the Under Fourteen Age category he represented the School at the District Athletic meet and went on to the Finals in the 100 Metre event.

He is interested in Table Tennis too and his TT Coach is Pahan Vithanage and Sharon has become a Champion in Table Tennis Singles for Two consecutive years in 2018 and 2019 at the Inter House TT Competition.

His intention is to improve all his three Sports disciplines while doing his studies as his ambition is to enter a foreign University for higher studies and to become an International Sportsman and he is thankful to all his coaches and his parents for the encouragement given to him to improve his Sports career.
