Gymnast, Diver and Powerlifter and member of the National Gymnastic Team of Junior Commonwealth Games in Namibia, South Africa in 2016 and a member of the Asian Gymnastic Championship in Thailand and a Gold Medalist at the Asian Championship for Powerlifting in Taibul Turkey and Sri Lanka Powerlifting 47lbs Record Holder and double International Edirimuni Shenuki Dishalya has brought honour and immence glory to her two schools Louver International College Pannipitiya and Bishop’s College Colombo and her motherland with her deeds in the field of sports.

Shenuki was born on 24th December 2002 and admitted to Louver International College Pannipitiya in 2008. When she was four years old she showed an interest in Gymnastics and noticing this her parents Anusha Sanjeewa and Crishanthi Devika made arrangements to hand over their daughter to two Private Gymnastic Coaches Anton Dias and Tharindu Nadun Perera and her practices were carried out at Torrington Sports Complex Colombo. She was taught the basics of this game and after strenuous training her first attempt was National Schools Gymnastic Championship conducted by Sri Lanka Schools and she won a Gold Medal in the under 9 age group in 2011 and participating in the under 11 to 13 age group she fared well and came up to Best Ten.

Then in the Gymnastic Championship she cinched a Gold in the under 15 age category and with these performances under her belt she was a unanimous choice for the National Team at the Junior Commonwealth Games held in Namibia South Africa in 2016 and in the same year for Asian Gymnastic Championship in Thailand and she participated for the individual and team events and then in 2017 she took part in the National Gymnastic Festival Meet and won a Gold, Silver and a Bronze each and in the National; Festival Meet she grabbed a Gold, two Silvers and a Bronze and secured the all round third place.

She joined Bishop’s College and competing in Diving in the under 14 age group she carried away the Best Divers Award and the School Championship and she repeated this performances successively up to 2018 and her coach was Chanaka Wickramasinghe.

Shenuki commenced Powerlifting in 2018 and came under Ransilu Jayathilake and competing in the 47lbs event in 2019 she won the Best Players Award and in 2021 at the Sri Lanka Power Lifting Nationals she set a Sri Lanka Record and representing Asian Championship held in Thaibul, Turkey she won Gold Medals for three events and at present she is preparing for the forthcoming Powerlifting Championship to be held in South Africa.
