Ships were not created to be anchored in harbours – Namal

Namal Rajapaksa was officially nominated as the party candidate of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna for the 2024 Presidential Election.

That was at the party headquarters located in Nelum Mawatha on Wednesday (7).

Having entered the Presidential race in this way, he had mentioned that he had accepted the challenge and was thankful for the trust placed in him.

Posting on his Facebook account Rajapaksa says: “A ship is safe until it is anchored in the harbour. But the ships of the world were not made to be anchored in the harbour.”

“I accept the challenge. I will end this battle with you, in victory.I thank Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna for the trust placed in me.”

“The official ceremony of announcing the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna’s 2024 Presidential candidacy was held yesterday at the party headquarters premises. Heartfelt thanks to all who came and wished me well, “he said.
