Shuttler Viran into second round at CM Trophy

Viren Nettasinghe once again came to the fore as he advanced to the second round after beating Siddhant Salar of India at the CM Trophy India International Challenge played yesterday in Raipur Chhattisgarh India.

Viren who was named top seed of this tournament made an easy two sets win (21/8 – 21/11) to enter the second round which will be played today.

Meanwhile Abhishek Saini of Indian beat Thailand shuttler Chayakorn Sootlak yesterday with three setter game 21-19,20-22,21-12.

Abhishek Saini the former champion in Yonex-Sunrise Bangaladesh International Challenge 2021 and Indian National player met with Viren in another ranking tournament earlier and Viren had the chance to beat him. However this is another tournament and we have to play a fresh game today and who ever win I want to give my best to perform well, said Viren Nettasinghe the former St Peter’s Bambalapitiya shuttler .

Meanwhile Sri Lanka doubles pair Maduka Dulanjana and Lahiru Weerasinghe lost to Indian pair Chaithanya Reddy and Sravanth Sai in their qualification round. With this defeat Sri Lanka pair got out from the tournament. Maduka Dulanjana also played men’s singles qualifying round and lost to Indian shuttler.
