SI dies from fall off motorbike in Batticaloa

A sub-inspector attached to the Batticaloa Police Station died on Tuesday (10) while receiving treatment in hospital after falling from a motorcycle.

The deceased Sub Inspector 57-year-old resident of Nochchamunai area of Batticaloa.

This officer was recently promoted from Sergeant to Sub Inspector. After being promoted as a Sub Inspector, this officer was sent to Aralaganwila Police College to participate in the training course to prepare officers for that position.

The Sub Inspector faced this accident last Saturday (7) while travelling on his motorcycle.

Police say that he was injured and died while receiving treatment for four days at the Batticaloa Hospital.
