Single mother robbed by man who befriended her

Meetiyagoda Police are conducting investigations to arrest a suspect who has robbed the gold jewellery of a 33-year-old woman on Wednesday (15).

According to the police, the victim is a mother of three and she has had an extra marital affair with this suspect, whom she came to know over the phone about a week ago.

She is a resident of Ilukpitiya, Batapola and is a single-mother, police said. On the day of the incident she had come to meet this person by bike. Later the couple visited Galle, Ambalangoda and Galduwa areas.

While they were spending time beside the road in the Galduwa area, suddenly the suspect had threatened her with a knife and had robbed her gold jewellery worth over Rs.150,000. Police are investigating.
