SIS SI arrested over fatal knock down

A sub-inspector of the State Intelligence Service was arrested yesterday (13) by the traffic section of the Hikkaduwa Police in connection with a fatal accident.

This officer is attached to the Galle District Office of the State Intelligence Service.

This officer, who is a resident of Balapitiya, was travelling on his personal motorcycle for work when his motorcycle collided with a bicycle at the Kumarakanda junction.

Hikkaduwa Police said that the 70-year-old cyclist died after the collision. The deceased is Premasiri Fernando, a resident of Pinkande. The State Intelligence Service officer who was arrested in connection with this accident was to be presented to court.
