Sithawaka Heritage Museum opens on Sunday

The “Sithawaka Heritage Museum”, which has been constructed to facilitate the exploration of information about the Kingdom of Sithawaka, will be opened to the public in Avissawella on Sunday (21) under the patronage of President Ranil Wickremesinghe and Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena.

This museum has been built by the Central Cultural Fund at a cost of Rs.5 Mn. An old building located on a land owned by the Sri Lanka Railways Department has been renovated for this museum. Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena, Transport, Highways and Mass Media Minister Dr.Bandula Gunawardhana, Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs Minister Vidura Wickremanayake had forwarded a joint Cabinet paper and obtained approval for this museum.
