Six indicted for making explosive devices for Easter attacks
The Colombo High Court yesterday served indictments to six accused in connection with manufacturing 21 explosive devices together with Mohammed Insaf who carried out the suicide
bomb attack at inside the Cinnamon Grand Hotel in Colombo, and aiding and abetting the suicide bomb attack on Easter Sunday. The case was taken up before Colombo High Court Judge Navarathne Marasinghe.
The case will be taken up again on October 24. The Attorney General filed indictments under two counts in the Colombo High Court against six accused under Prevention of Terrorism Act in connection with manufacturing 21 explosive devices without a legal licence and aiding and abetting the Easter Sunday terror attacks that took place on April 21, 2019 with the assistance of suicide bomb attacker Mohammed Insaf between January 1, 2018 and March 30, 2018 in Kirulapone and Wellawatte areas.
The Attorney General had named 38 witnesses in the indictments.
The accused are Mohammad Shifan Saththan, Seiyyadu Abu Bai Mohammad Ashraf, Mohammad Ishak Mohammad Nilabdeen alias Arshad, Gunaseelan Ravindran alias Mohammad Ishak, Saik Fareed Mohammad Fausie, Mohammad Moinudeen Musa alias Abdulla.
