Six train services cancelled tonight ahead of strike

Six train journeys scheduled to operate tonight will be cancelled as a result of the nationwide train strike planned for tomorrow (17), according to reports.

Among the affected services are the 7.00 pm train from Colombo Fort to Batticaloa, the 8.00 pm train from Colombo Fort to Kankasanthurai, and the 9.30 pm night mail train to Batticaloa.

However, the Railway Department and transport authorities have not yet issued an official statement confirming the cancellations. (Newswire)
