SJB, JVP in a frenzy to grab power – SLPP
SLPP MP Lalith Ellawala said the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) and the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) leaders think that they could come to power at the next election.
“It is the government of good governance that is responsible for the fuel and gas and other queues today. The group that ruled the country from 2015 to 2019 obtained huge loans and what did they do with those?, he queried.
He said that the previous government sold the Hambantota Port which could have brought in an income to the country. “Not a single unit of electricity was produced during the time of President Maithripala Sirisena. Those who did all these are berating the government today”, he said.
Ellawala was speaking at a press conference held at the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna headquarters yesterday (18).
He said that during the rule of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, local production in the country has increased. There is a big increase in export of minor export crops. We have to remind the people that such a good thing has happened during the tenure of his Presidency, he said.
