SJB organizer remanded over drug trafficking

Three persons including the organizer of the Kurunegala District Youth Committee of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB), who were arrested and detained for drug trafficking, were remanded till January 8, by the Kegalle Magistrate’s Court, yesterday. Amitha Bandara who served as the Kurunegala District District Youth Committee Organizer for the SJB was arrested at the Mahawa Junction by officers of the Kegalle Crime Investigations Bureau during the ‘Yukthiya’ operation.

The Police said that he was in possession of heroin at the time of arrest.
