First eleven cricket captain, Right hand top order batsman, Right arm off spinner, Safe fielder in any position under 13, 15, 17, second eleven captain, Member of the Mini Battle, Under 15 and 19 District player and Swimmer Sandeesh Rukshal Femando has brought immense glory to his alma mater St. Sebastians College with his deeds in swimming and cricket.
Sandeesh who hails from Indibedda, Moratuwa was born on 24 th October 2004 and he was admitted to his present school

in 2009. From grade two to five he took part in swimming and got places. But his Parents Sadeep Femando and Shiranthi Roshith noticing that his forte is cricket handed over their son to the School Cricket Academy and he came under Mr.Sameera and Mr.Mohan respectively.
As an under 13 player he was an automatic choice for the first Division Team and in 2016 he was the captain and passed the 200 run mark with two half centuries. He walked in to the under 15 division one team with ease and in his first year he scored 310 runs with three fifties and captured 20 wickets and in his second year he captained the team and collected 410 runs with four fifties and claimed 15 scalps and with his performances he was a unanimous choice for the District team and he represented Colombo South Zone Two.
In 2019 as an under 17 player playing in the Limited Over tournament he bagged 28 wickets and in the following year he was appointed as the captain and due to Coronavirus there were no cricket. Same year playing in the second eleven and leading the team scored three fifties in the Limited Over tournament and claimed 30 wickets and he played for the Mini Battle against their arch rivals Cambrians.
As a second eleven player he represented the first eleven team and playing in four outings he took a five wicket haul and in the following year he was a regular member of the team and scored a century versus Bens and claimed 30 wickets and in the next year he passed the three hundred run mark with two fifties and captured 43 wickets with a five wicket haul and in the 2022 Big Match he collected nine wickets against Prince of Wales and in the under 19 one day tournament he topped the 400 run mark with two fifties and took eleven wickets. In his final year in 2022/23 he captained the team and passed the three hundred run mark and claimed 63 wickets .which included one ten wicket haul and five wicket haul and one against Prince of Wales in the Big Match and in the one dayer scored a fifty and another fifty in the Limited Over match and with all these performances under his belt he was selected for the under 19 District Team and played for the Colombo South Zone. He played for the MASHoldings in the Mercantile ‘A’ Division and in his first match itself he captured five wickets.
He wound up his ten year cricket career with his alma mater by gaining a first innings win at the Big Match which was a tame draw and beating Cambrians in the first ever T/20 inaugural match which was played for the Rev. Fr. Bonny Fernandopulle and M. E. C. Fernando Memorial Challenge Trophy and the Annual One Dayer and what a fine performances indeed.
